AI9GM — AI-Centric IT Governance Model

The AI-Centric IT Governance Model (AI9GM) is a six-layer meta-framework for enterprise IT governance built for the age of artificial intelligence. It sits atop established standards — COBIT, ITIL, ISO frameworks, and others — drawing from decades of enterprise practice rather than replacing the foundations that already work.

AI9GM addresses a specific gap: most established IT governance frameworks were designed before AI became a core operational and strategic driver. AI9GM doesn't start from scratch; it layers structured AI-readiness thinking over those proven foundations, giving organizations a strategic compass rather than a prescriptive checklist.

Each layer articulates the governance disciplines that an organization must address as AI becomes embedded across the enterprise — from the infrastructure that AI workloads depend on, to the data quality and security those workloads require, to the financial governance, leadership, and strategic alignment that determine whether AI adoption delivers lasting value or accumulates technical and organizational debt.

The framework's governing principle: governance that enables progress, not governance for its own sake. Organizations are encouraged to adopt what helps them move faster, smarter, and more safely, and return to the rest as their scale and complexity grow.

An in-progress STRATA application

The framework is published today at ai9gm.com on its original WordPress platform, and is currently being rebuilt as a new Nuxt/Docus site under STRATA Protocol governance — a live, in-progress application of the methodology described in Methodology. The rebuild follows the same approach applied here: document first, derive the architecture from intent, gate each phase on human review, and preserve a full artifact trail.

The STRATA-built Nuxt/Docus version is expected to go live in July 2026, replacing the WordPress site at the same address. Until then, the framework is fully accessible at ai9gm.com, and the six-layer model and its governing principle represent its public-safe substance.
